Q: What does "EcoBroker" mean?
A: EcoBroker is a professional designation given to licensed real estate agents who have completed EcoBroker Continuing Eduction. The education focuses on environmental issues like radon, asbestos, water quality, mold, and other environmental challenges. The EcoBroker training provides a level of deeper understanding of the liabilities these issues create, how to reduce these liabilities for my clients as well as being a resource for Eco Friendly or "Green" issues and sustainable products. In addition, to this continuing education I use digital copies of contracts, market info, etc. when possible to reduce paper waste. And when I do print it is on recycled paper.
Q: Why can't I find a home on Realtor.com?
A: Not all homes are on realtor.com because not all licensed agents are Realtors®. Not all licensed agents are Realtors® but all Realtors® are licensed to sell real estate. So when a non realtor lists a property, it is not pulled onto Realtor.com. That being said, the best place to look for current properties for sale is in the MLS which you can search on this site.
Q: My friend says she isn't a Realtor®, but she just sold a home, what is the deal?
A: The word Realtor® is a professional designation given to a real estate broker or sales-associate who is a member of a board associated with the National Association of Realtors® or with the National Association of Real Estate Boards. Not all licensed agents are Realtors® but all Realtors® are licensed to sell real estate. Learn more about Realtors® here.
Q: Since you are in Boulder, do you only work in Boulder?
A: No. I work all over the Front Range. I work mostly in Boulder because that is where I live. However, I have sold homes in Loveland and Brighton, Denver down to Centennial and most everywhere in between. I am the first to tell you that I may not be as familiar with some areas, but I am resourceful and can learn any area very quickly.
Q: Why would I even use a Realtor® when I can find my property value on zillow, trulia, or other free sites?
A: One reason to hire a Realtor® is to get an accurate price for your home in the current market. See my Guide about the Right Price. You don't want to price your self out of the market or lose money either. Other than price, do you have an initial 12-15 hours to begin selling your home and then 3-5 hours minimum per week, sometimes per day to put towards the sale of your home? What about a recent sales contract? Where do you take the earnest money and how much are you legally required to have? What about disclosure and inspection items - are you required to disclose that you are in foreclosure or that the home was a rental? If you know the answers to all of these questions and have the time, you will do great!
